Why Supporting ACLT Matters

Like any non-profit organization, we depend on the donations of our community to survive.  With dwindling arts programs in schools, your donations mean more than ever as we strive to serve the children in our community.  We expose community members to new ideas, stories and creative expressions they might not get otherwise.  This cultural enrichment makes our community more vibrant, creative and well rounded.  Support ACLT and make a tax deductible donation.  Whether you are a local business, a longtime patron, or a neighbor who believes in the value of the arts, your sponsorship makes a meaningful difference. Every contribution, large or small, helps ensure that live theatre continues to enrich our mountain community.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your gift to Ashe County Little Theatre is fully tax-deductible.  EIN – 58-1698715. CSL – EX012212.

  • Ory’s love for the theatre began as a youth actor at Ashe County Little Theatre, where his passion for the stage first took root. That passion never faded. Donations to the Ory Owen Memorial Fund support educational opportunities for young performers, including education and training, workshops, and access to theatre programs. Through this fund, we are able to honor the joy, creativity and spirit Ory brought to our stage and our community.  Ory's commitment to learning and creativity continues to open doors for the next generation of artists.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving - Easily give from your IRA or other retirement fund for extra tax benefits. Naming ACLT as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan asset such as 401(k), 403 (b), IRA, Keogh or profit sharing pension will accomplish a charitable goal while realizing significant tax savings.  It can be costly to pass such assets on to heirs because of heavy tax consequences.  By naming ACLT as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, the donor maintains complete control over the asset while living, but at the donor’s death the plan passes on to support the ACLT free of both estate and income taxes.

Outright Bequest in a Will

Ensures live theatre is here for years to come.  The following provision in your will creates an unrestricted bequest, which assures that your gift will be used where it is most needed.  Please discuss with you financial advisor or attorney how this can benefit you and your philanthropic goals.

1. Specific Dollar Amount - “I bequest the sum of $ ___, to the ACLT, a non-profit organization having a principal place of business at 303 School Avenue, West Jefferson, NC 28694, Federal Tax ID #58-1698715, to be used or disposed of as the ACLT, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate.”

2. Percentage Amount - “I bequest the sum of __ % of my estate to the ACLT, a non-profit organization having a principal place of business at 303 School Avenue, West Jefferson, NC 28694, Federal Tax ID #58-1698715, to be used or disposed of as the ACLT, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate.”
