Pastor Paul basks in the glory of having built a megachurch with thousands of loyal congregants and a newly-paid-for building. But a singular sermon that will radically shift the church’s teachings starts a ripple effect that could have devastating consequences both personally and professionally. Hnath’s masterful use of language illuminates the showmanship, and the faltering of a pastor caught between preserving what he believes to be true or the church that he’s dedicated his life to building.
ACLT is pleased to announce auditions for our next production of
New Wendy in Neverland.
Audition Dates: Monday August 25 & 26, 2025 at 6:00 pm / Ashe Civic Center.
Production Team:

Production Synopsis:
Wendy, a modern-day teen, wakes up in Neverland, where she thinks she is lost in an amusement park where the staff are trying to incorporate her into their theatrics. She follows Tinkerbell and her fairy cohorts to find the Park Director
and cell phone reception. On the way, she is accosted by Captain Hook and his pirate crew, who want Wendy’s cell phone to track the ever-present crocodile. She, however, is soon rescued by Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. But as two
worlds begin to weave together, we realize that there is more to this story, which Tinkerbell seems to be narrating, than meets the eye. And when the world collides, Wendy must decide whether to stay in Neverland with the charmingly
captivating Peter Pan or return home to her mother.

West Jefferson – Ashe County Little Theatre received Federal Funding through the ARPA Grassroots grant funds from the Ashe County Arts Council. These federal funds are part of the American Rescue Plan Act that have been awarded to arts organizations after the pandemic as support for organizational growth and sustainability.
Ashe County Little Theatre have used the funds to support a new website platform that allows more creative use and a better patron experience. In partnership with the Arts Council patrons are now able to purchase tickets online in a convenient and user-friendly experience. The website allows for more creative content and space. The website found at www.ashecountylittletheatre allows more space for archival photos and a record of past productions.
The grant funds were also used for fundraising materials for the upcoming 2024 season. These materials help to build a strong supportive patron base both with people resources and financial resources. The Little Theatre depends on community support to continue to offer a board range of activities for youth and adults.
These projects were supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The Ashe County Little Theatre is supported locally by the Ashe County Arts Council. For more information about the Ashe County Little Theatre email ashecountylittletheatre@gmail.com.
