      <image:title>Past Shows - New Wendy in Neverland - Director’s Note</image:title>
<image:caption>Having done bedside storytelling, drama and puppetry in pediatric units at eight hospitals and clinics, over a 23 year period, I learned, first hand, about the power of story to heal. When done interactively, where patients take an active part in the story, it has a power to take one out of their pain, physical and mental. Working primarily with kids with Cancer, I gathered insights into how to best use this method, which I incorporated into the writing of “New Wendy in Neverland.” When I first directed it, during a drama camp for Middle Schoolers, I saw how the kids connected with the twists of the plot and how they felt the electricity of the magical elements. This cast is no different. It has been an absolute delight to work with all these very talented actors and watch them infuse their individual enthusiasm to bring this story to life. The performing arts are a powerful tool for healing and theatre is a wonderful, inclusive and welcoming community. And we certainly have built that through this show. We hope you enjoy experiencing it as much as we have enjoyed manifesting it for you! -Sally Kinka</image:caption>

      <image:title>Past Shows - The Christians - Director’s Note</image:title>
<image:caption>Does art influence our lives or simply reflect it? This show is evidence that it does both. What happens when leaders take a turn that the masses are not quite ready to follow? What is the cost of following your passion, a deep truth to which you are fully committed? What happens when we ask the questions we are not “allowed” to ask? The running theme of this show is this: I HAVE A POWERFUL URGE TO COMMUNICATE BUT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN IS INSURMOUNTABLE. It is my sincere hope that after this experience, you will be motivated and encouraged to find a way to bridge that distance. Thank you for coming to the show and taking this journey with us. -Tiffany Christian</image:caption>

<image:title>Past Shows - Little Shop of Horrors - Directors Note</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome to Little Shop of Horrors—the only musical where your favorite character might be a bloodthirsty houseplant. This show has been a wild, hilarious, and oddly heartwarming journey. Beneath the campy horror, catchy tunes, and increasingly questionable life choices lies a story about longing: for love, for success, for something better. Of course, in true musical theatre fashion, things escalate from “I want a promotion” to “I’m feeding people to a giant alien plant” in record time. Working with this cast and crew has been nothing short of a joy (and occasionally a mild panic attack — looking at you, puppet logistics). Every performer, designer, and technician has poured heart, soul, and probably a little fake blood into this production, and I couldn’t be more proud of the strange and wonderful garden we’ve grown together. So sit back, enjoy the music, laugh at the absurdity, and maybe — just maybe — think twice before buying that suspicious-looking plant at your local nursery.Thank you for supporting live theatre. It’s people like you who keep it thriving… unlike some of our characters. With love, horror, and a few questionable moral choices, Baron Cooper</image:caption>

<image:caption>Seymour, is excited to make his debut at Ashe County Little Theatre as Seymour! Taking the stage for the first time here, Modio is thrilled (and maybe a little nervous) to bring this quirky, lovable character to life. When he’s not practicing his plant-feeding techniques or dodging dental tools, he’s working hard to entertain and connect with the audience. Modio sends big thanks to the cast, crew, and anyone who’s ever sung “Suddenly Seymour” in the shower. Enjoy the show!</image:caption>

His directorial portfolio also includes Angel Street, Frankenstein, and Murder by Poe. Audiences may also recognize Baron from his acting roles in productions like Dracula, Bus Stop, The Addams Family, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, to name a few. A versatile artist, Baron has contributed to numerous regional theaters as both an actor and a lighting designer. When not immersed in the world of theatre, he enjoys the creative outlets of 3-D printing and the adventure of whitewater kayaking with his daughter, Olivia. He’s thrilled to be in this show with friends from past shows (most recently Cassondra and Stephen from WOF) and with the actors performing for the first time with ACLT. He thanks the phenomenal cast, crew, and production staff--who are all crazy fun to work with--for all the hard work they have put into LSOH. <image:caption>Music Director, has spent the last several weeks trying to get everyone to sing in the same key, at the same time — a heroic feat that deserves at least a Tony nomination, or a nap. When not conducting chaos (musical and otherwise), Parker enjoys wondering why everyone thinks “cut time” means “cut corners.” He didn’t submit a bio on time, but considering he’s been buried under stacks of sheet music and passive-aggressive metronome clicks, we’ll let it slide. <image:title>Past Shows - Second Samuel - Director’s Note</image:title>
<image:caption>Second Samuel, a town in Georgia in 1949 had a population of 328. Jefferson, NC had a population of 359 in 1949. The characters in this play may relate or be seen in almost any small town in the south during that time period. Although fictitious, this play has all of the real life issues facing many small towns across America. The playwright has been able to tactfully embody the personalities of each character. In our personal lives each of us may be able to recognize one or several of the characters. Our cast is magnificent. Our producer Jan Kotula and our limited production crew and cast have worked very hard to bring Miss Gertrude and this play to life. You will not see Ms. Gertrude during the show but will get to know her very well. This is a thought provoking play which I know you will enjoy. Laugh, be moved, but don’t leave unchanged. Enjoy the show! Michael Kotula</image:caption>

      <image:title>Past Shows - Young Frankenstein - Director’s Note</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome to Young Frankenstein the Musical! As the director of this production, I am thrilled to bring this hilarious and monstrous tale to life on the stage. Inspired by Mel Brooks’ iconic film, this musical adaptation promises to take you on a wild and outrageous journey filled with laughter, heart, and a touch of the macabre. At its core, Young Frankenstein explores the timeless themes of identity, acceptance, and the pursuit of one’s dreams. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, our brilliant yet eccentric protagonist, embarks on a madcap adventure as he grapples with his family legacy and strives to create a legacy of his own. Join us on this mad scientist’s journey, as we delve into the joys and perils of scientific exploration and self-discovery. Young Frankenstein the Musical is a celebration of the theatrical experience itself, filled with uproarious comedic moments and heartfelt scenes. Through laughter and music, we aim to ignite your imagination and leave you with a renewed sense of wonder and joy.
